Anthony and Jessica chairs of the North East Tolkien Society, will be
not only be joined by friends, members and colleagues, but RingCon
Organizer and Chairman of the German Tolkien Society Marcel Buelles,
and potentially Ed Rodrigues, President and Founder of The Gathering of
the Fellowship.
We encourage everyone to bring their favorite copy of any of Tolkien's
work's, i.e. The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, Unfinished
Tales etc etc, you are not required to read to everyone, but we
encourage it in order to get the most out of Tolkien Reading Day and to
make for more fruitful discussion.

hope to see you there! Tolkien Reading Day (A day devoted to
reading stories, portions or poems from the work of JRR Tolkien) will

To travel via Public Transportation take the Metro-North from:

BY TRAIN from NYC:
The train from Grand Central Station to Pleasantville which is closest
in time to the 3PM meeting on Sat. 3/25 at Frodo's is:
Depart Grand Central: 1:50PM
Arrive Pleasantville NY: 2:37PM (23 min before meeting)
Travel time: 47 min.
The train before departs 12:50PM and arrives 1:38PM (1 hr 22 min before
meeting).
The train after departs 2:50PM and arrives 3:37PM (37 min late for
meeting).
As for return trains to NYC:
Leave Pleasantville 5:43PM, arrive Grand Central 6:35PM
Leave Pleasantville 6:43PM, arrive Grand Central 7:34PM
Leave Pleasantville 7:43PM, arrive Grand Central 8:34PM
This is the Harlem Line of Metro North.
All the trains are "through trains," with no transfers required.
Off-peak fares apply on Saturday.
Round trip purchased on train is $20.00.
Purchase at station for $14.50, or via Internet for $13.78.
BY CAR from NYC:
Take Henry Hudson Pkwy (West Side Drive) north, crossing Henry Hudson
Bridge from Manhattan into the Bronx. When hit Bronx/Westchester
(Yonkers) border, name changes tom Saw Mill Pkwy. Continue North.
From Saw Mill Pkwy northbound, take Exit 30, Grant Street. At exit,
turn right. Proceed through first traffic light, onto Memorial Plaza.
Station is on the left directly behind parking lot. Park in parking lot
near train station (or other street parking in area).
From Train Station / Parking Lot:
Walk 2 blocks south to Bedford Road. Make right at Bedford Road, cross
street and find Frodo's at:

After toll, take exit to Saw Mill River Pkwy North. Get on Saw Mill
Pkwy North. Take Exit 28 (Pleasantville, Bedford Rd). Make a right at
the end of ramp. Drive for 100 yards. Bear right at 7-Eleven. Frodo's
is located on the right hand side after Art Of Wine.
>From 287 East (White Plains and Connecticut)
Take 287 East to Exit 3 (Taconic Pkwy/Sprain Brook Pkwy). Get on Sprain
Brook Pkwy North. Take Exit for Saw Mill River Pkwy North. Get on Saw
Mill Pkwy North. Take Exit 28 (Pleasantville, Bedford Rd). Make a right
at the end of ramp. Drive for 100 yards. Bear right at 7-Eleven.
Frodo's is located on the right hand side after Art Of Wine.
>From Saw Mill River Pkwy Southbound (Brewster/Katonah/Mt. Kisco)
Take Saw Mill River Pkwy South. Take Exit 29 (Manville Rd,
Pleasantville, Route 117). Make a right at the end of ramp. Take first
right at the traffic light (Pleasantville Rd). Go straight for 0.25
mile. Frodo's is located on the right hand side after Art Of Wine.
>From Armonk
Take Route 22 South to Route 120. Make a right onto Route 120 towards
Chappaqua. Make a left on Bear Ridge Road. Go straight till the end.
Make a right on Broadway. Make first left on Bedford Rd. Go straight
for 1.5 miles. Frodo's is located on the left hand side after Jean
Jacques (2 traffic lights).
